NICKLIN CORFLUTE COMPETITION

Are you a bit of a Bansky or perhaps you prefer yourself some Picasso?

 

I'm calling on all the artists in our community to enter my competition to redesign my corflute in the most creative way possible.

The competition is open to all residents in the Nicklin electorate 16 years and older, terms & conditions apply, please see below.

Key Dates

  • 26th September - Competition opens

  • 9th October - Entries to be returned to Nicklin Electorate office

  • 10th October - Judging. Winners announced on social media

  • 11th October - Public exhibition of entries at Nambour Twilight Markets

Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

1.1. Entry is open to residents of the Nicklin electorate aged 16 years and over.
1.2. Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of Rob Skelton MP are not eligible to enter.
1.3. All participants must follow the official competition guidelines and comply with these terms and conditions.

 

2. Entry Submission

2.1. The competition opens on 26th September 2024 and closes on 9th October 2024. Entries submitted after this period will not be accepted.
2.2. Participants must submit their artwork directly on a Rob Skelton MP corflute and return the finished artwork to the Nicklin Electorate Office at 3/51 Currie St, Nambour by 5pm 9th October 2024 to be eligible.
2.3. Each participant may submit a maximum of 1 entry.
2.4. The artwork must be the original work of the entrant.
2.5. By submitting an entry, participants grant Rob Skelton MP the right to reproduce, display, and distribute the artwork for promotional purposes in any media, including social media platforms, in perpetuity.

2.6. Artwork must not obscure "Rob Skelton MP", "Nicklin", the Queensland Labor logo or the authorisation statement at the bottom of the corflute.

2.7. Vulgar, offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate entries will not be permitted.

 

3. Judging Criteria

3.1. The winning artwork will be selected based on creativity, originality, relevance to political themes, and public appeal.
3.2. A panel of judges appointed by Rob Skelton MP will review all submissions.
3.3. The decision of the judging panel is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.

 

4. Prize

4.1. Judges will determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.

4.2. 1st prize winner will receive prizes to the value of $250, 2nd prize winner will receive prizes to the value of $150, 3rd prize winner will receive prizes to the value of $100.
4.3. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or exchanged for other products or services.
4.4. In the event that the prize becomes unavailable, Rob Skelton MP reserves the right to substitute it with an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

 

5. Intellectual Property and Permissions

5.1. Participants confirm that their artwork is their original creation and does not infringe the rights of any third party.
5.2. By entering the competition, participants agree to assign all intellectual property rights, including copyright, to Rob Skelton MP for promotional and commercial use.
5.3. Any content that is deemed offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate will be disqualified at the discretion of Rob Skelton MP

 

6. Publicity and Use of Name

6.1. By entering, participants consent to Rob Skelton MP using their name, image, and submitted artwork for publicity purposes without compensation.
6.2. The winner may be asked to participate in promotional activities and events.

 

7. Liability

7.1. Rob Skelton MP will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by any entrant or third party as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
7.2. Rob Skelton MP is not responsible for any technical issues or errors that may prevent entry submission.

 

8. Disqualification

8.1. Rob Skelton MP reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to have violated these terms and conditions or engaged in any fraudulent activity.
8.2. Any entry that is incomplete or fails to comply with the competition requirements may be disqualified.

 

9. General

9.1. Rob Skelton MP reserves the right to modify or terminate the competition at any time without notice.
9.2. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, and participants agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
